Both the Brick Hill Block and Bien Nacido Pinot Noirs are award winning wines with classic and elegant style. The Mencarini family has also produced two different appellation Chardonnays, Viognier, Merlot, and Syrah. The winery has nine wines with seven different varietals, all containing family history, pride, and fun.

Audelssa (Sonoma)
The name Audelssa, an abridgement of the Schaefer daughters' names, is a winery that truly echoes its circumstances. The dramatic vineyards are inimitable thanks to restrictions on the development of hillside vineyards that went into effect in Sonoma County in 2000. Even the label reveals an image that could either be the extreme elevation or the strong winds that blow intensely over the terrain. These forceful conditions ultimately produce Audelssa wines. A worthy goal of a winery with moxie.

Buoncristiani Family Winery (Napa)
The Buoncristiani brothers (Matt, Jay, Aaron, and Nate) take pride in performing all aspects of enology, viticulture, wine production, and art design in order to share a true expression of their winemaking passion. Their motto is quality not quantity, and they craft their wines without compromise. Handcrafting these limited production wines allows for the utmost attention to detail of every gallon in each barrel. To ensure the highest quality wine at Buoncristiani, they encourage controlled stress in the vineyard to produce low yielding, concentrated, and balanced fruit full of flavor and varietal expression. Once grapes reach full maturity, the brothers harness this inherent potential from the vineyard to the bottle through meticulous tracking and blending of each promising component. The Buoncristiani family strives to create optimum complexity while retaining balance, varietal character, and superior quality.

Eagle Point Ranch (Mendocino)
Eagle Point Ranch Winery is a partnership between sparkling-wine pioneer and chocolate-maker John Scharffenberger and viticulturist Casey Hartlip. Using grapes grown exclusively from the Scharffenberger family's Eagle Point Ranch, they have combined their efforts to produce some of California's finest red wines. More than just a vineyard, Eagle Point Ranch is an experiment in viticulture techniques and range management. The 82-acre vineyard sits in the middle of nearly three square miles of upland range and timberland. Thirty-one separate blocks, six different varieties, and numerous exposures and trellis systems all at high elevation make for very intense farming. The vineyard is now home exclusively to red-grape varieties. Continued grafting and more recent plantings have concentrated on the Rhone varieties, including Syrah and Grenache, as well as their Rhone cousin Petite Syrah. Other varieties planted on the ranch include Zinfandel, Sangiovese, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Hawkes (Alexander Valley)
The Home Ranch's unique geography, together with minimal irrigation and a program of aggressive thinning in the Spring, ends with the red grapes in loose clusters of thick-skinned, densely flavored berries. This is particularly true of the Cabernet Sauvignon, where the upper hills often yield less than two tons to the acre. The Chardonnay, because of the extended cool it enjoys, is allowed to ripen slowly and late, developing a complex citrus character.

Four generations of the Young family have farmed the same estate in California's Alexander Valley since 1858. Today, the family known for its rich agricultural heritage and innovative farming methods embraces a new chapter with wines of distinctive Sonoma County character. To ensure the highest quality crop, Robert Young Vineyards thinned blocks of red grapes to approximately eight pounds per vine. This rigorous thinning—performed at a strategic moment in the maturation of the grapes, when the berries possess all of the cells they will produce—allows the vine to concentrate growth in the remaining grapes, producing more flavorful, complex fruit and wines of exceptionally high quality.

Bodegas y Vinedos de Murcia
The Jumilla DO current surface area is 32,000 hectares. The area is characterised by broad valleys and plains crossed by mountains, which lie between the Mediterranean coast and the meseta of Castilla La Mancha. The vineyards are planted at altitudes between 1,200 and 2,400 feet above sea level. The soil is red-brown limestone lying over limestone bedrock. It has high water retention and medium permeability which allows the vines to survive the long periods of drought, taking maximum advantage of the water available. These soils are very low in organic content and their structure does not favor the propagation of phylloxera; the texture of the soils is loam or sandy loam, which gives them good air drainage. They have a high pH and low salinity.Bodegas y Vinedos de Murcia is located in El Carche (Jumilla), in the south-eastern corner of the province of Albacete at an elevation of 1,372 feet. Rojo Mojo (La Mancha)
La Mancha is Spain's largest denomination of origin and the world's largest wine producing area. Despite low yields La Mancha is known as ideal vineyard country due to the quality of the fruit, the ripening cycle, long sun drenched days and the health of the vines. Although this is a large area, the flat geography and the soil is remarkably consistent - red-brown sandy clay, poor in organic content and rich in limestone and chalk. Limestone outcroppings are frequent and must be broken up to allow the roots of the vines to prosper. La Mancha's plains, sitting at an average of some 2,100 feet have an archetypal continental climate: Icy winters give way to torrid summers. Summer temperatures often exceed 110 degrees, while the winter thermometer will see temperatures as low as 10 degrees.

Ksana refers to the Buddhist idea of infinity in an instant. Likewise, we believe the expression of a wine depends on the ability of the winemaker to recognize the right moment for each step in the vineyard and winery. All these together are what will make a wine last in your memory forever.

The Ksana wines are unfiltered; malolactic fermentation occurs in the oak; and indigenous yeasts are used to express the terroir. The vineyard is very densely planted (7,900 plants per hectare) with very low production per vine (0.6-1.1 kg per vine); this adds to the wines' ultra-concentration.

In 2004, when 24 years of age, Aldo Clerico, instead of selling the grapes from the vineyards that belonged to his family for 4 generations, decided to start making his own wine. Now, only 28 years old, his first Barolo has been released and shows great promise. His wines are uncompromising, complex, structured, even difficult in their youth, but they tend, in true Piedmontese style, to age gracefully and improve with bottle age. Owning some amazing vineyards in the heart of the Monforte area and possessing an assured hand in the cellar, Aldo is making wines that show personality and vigor. Bruno Porro (Piemonte)
In 1980, Bruno Porro and his wife Irma started a small 24 acre winery, called Ribote after an old beloved tree in front of an ancient stone farmhouse on the property. The estate lies in Piedmont just east of the city of Alba in the heart of the Langhe region. All the vineyards face south and are located at an altitude of 1,100 to 1,300 feet. Ribote focuses almost entirely on Dolcetto, and all wines carry the Dogliani appellation (one of seven officially designated DOC zones). Bruno Porro makes about 4,200 cases of wine per year. The grapes are harvested at the end of September, producing a wine that is big in body and texture. Wrapped in a robe of velvety tannins, the wine brims with aromas and flavors of currants, black raspberries, and other dark red berry fruits, and is laced with hints of chocolate, coffee, and cedar.

Combined with a period of refinement in great oak barrels, it gives a velvety softness and a strong and austere character to the wines. The particular care in the workmanship of the vineyard, the most modern agronomic techniques, and the wise thinning out of the grapes in the months of July and August, gives them special raw material: grapes rich in sugar, dyestuff, and polyphenols. That is a very fine starting point to make first-rate red wines.

Colli di Serrapetrona (Marche)
The desire to focus on a traditional indigenous grape and to experiment in its dry vinification symbolizes the estate commitment to create a link to its unique past - the terroir and people of Serrapetrona - and thus avoid the rampant globalization of taste. The 25 hectares estate is composed of 12 small vineyards positioned amidst forest with abundant wildlife. Planted in 1999 on Guyot system, they lay steeply 450 meters above sea level on a marly/sandy soil of great drainage. Vernaccia Nera ripens late and is harvested in the last days of October.

Edi Keber (Friuli)
Situated just a stone's throw away from the Slovenian border, Edi Keber's 10 hectares of vineyards grow on the classic "ponka" soil, a stony, friable marl that gives the wines remarkable weight and body. Extremely poor, the "ponka" naturally stresses the vines which produce very small quantities of grapes and provide a distinctive minerality, typical of the Collio region. The grapes are picked at their highest possible maturity levels and are then fermented and matured in old cement vats, which according to Edi, add an element of "soul" to the wine as opposed to the sterility of stainless steel.

Flavio Roddolo (Piemonte)
Flavio Roddolo is one of the last remaining truly genuine wine-growers in Piedmont. The 20.000 bottles he produces annually in the Bricco Appiani hill outside of Monforte are the work of an artisan deeply attached to his land, who knows and respects each one of his vines. The 6 hectares of vineyards have not been chemically treated for 40 years, following biodynamic ideas before it became fashionable. Roddolo uses only indigenous yeasts, does not clarify nor filters. The vines, planted on calcareous/clay soil, are 10 to 70 years old. His wines are a reflection of the Monforte terroir and of the man who makes them: they are introverted, brooding and intense, but with patience they reveal a rich, unique and rewarding personality.

Guidobono(Piemonte)
Dreaming of one day being able to produce Barolo, the Faccenda family purchased this winery in 2003. The vineyards lie just outside of Monforte, the vines are 30/40 years old, the soil of limestone composition. Guidobono's wines are textbook interpretations of the indigenous grapes of the Langhe. Fruit driven, juicy, soft and rich the two Barbera, austere yet approachable the Nebbiolo, structured and traditional the Barolo.

Odoardi (Calabria)
From 70 hectares planted to vine, Odoardi produces around 300.000 bottles. The vineyards lay in the countryside crossed by the Savuto river and in hills facing the Tyrrhenian sea, which gives much needed ventilation to this scorched and often arid region. The re-discovery of grapes such as Magliocco Canino, Greco Nero, Gaglioppo and Nerello Cappuccio has been an eye-opener for wine drinkers and Odoardi's re-interpretation of such historic wines is genuine and innovative at once.

Pacherhof (Alto Adige)
Andreas Huber is the young owner and winemaker of this beautiful small estate high on the slopes of the Val d'Isarco. The vineyards lie 700 meters above sea level, just above the ancient Abbazia di Novacella monastic complex. Very old vines planted in gravel and sandstone soil produce wines of vibrantly aromatic character, bright, steely and elegant.

Palama' (Puglia)
The Palama winery dates back to 1936. The aim of the winery, in the very heart of the Salento, is to continue to make a high quality wine of grapes grown in optimum conditions during the hot sunny summer months. With the collaboration of the enologist Leonardo Sergio, Palama has become a modern winery that still incorporates old traditions.

Pasquale Pelissero (Piemonte)
Pasquale and his small winery in Neive have been the guidance and inspiration for many a young winemaker from the Barbaresco area. As far back as 40 years ago the newer generation of producers used to come to him as a sort of "pilgrimage" in order to learn how to treat and tame the local beast, Nebbiolo. As a true farmer, he never sought the limelight and was happy enough to make good wine for his family, friends and neighbors. He passed away in 2007 and now his daughter Ornella has taken the reins of the farm, maintaining her father’s philosophy and producing wines that mirror the true characteristics of the Langhe varietals and its terroir. No tricks, no gimmicks, just Piemonte in its purest expression.
